Hemera has a recommended steps per mm value of 397 at a typical micro-stepping value of x16. Before attempting to calibrate your Extruder steps per mm ensure you have already entered this starting value.
To get a more exact value for your E-steps-per-mm, measure the exact amount of filament that is
pushed out of your extruder.
Load filament into your extruder, just until it is gripped by the drive shaft.
1. Mark your filament 100mm from a common measuring point, typically the start of the PTFE tube is a good place to measure from.
You will need to heat your HotEnd to the recommended temperature of the filament before you extrude the filament.
2. Mark your filament again at 150mm in case your extruder is over extruding.
3. Extrude 100mm of filament
4. Measure the distance between the 100mm mark and the top of the PTFE (or chosen reference point)
New Esteps = Current Esteps x 100 / Actual Distance Extruded.
New Esteps = 397 x 100 / 86
New Esteps = 461.63
